Ron attended the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Thereafter, he cared for children with congenital heart disease and pulmonary vascular disease at Primary Children’s Hospital for 31+ years. Many of his patients had rare conditions of the heart, lung, or blood vessels. Together, they often struggled to navigate the complexities of health care, overcome barriers, and improve their options for treatment.

As an advocate, he aims to improve awareness and care for individuals with rare or undiagnosed conditions.
